As a 40 something year old empty nesting mother of three and grandma to two, I get to be married to my best friend, James.  Together we’ve navigated 23 years, a divorce and second marriage to each other, and four over-seas tours with the military.  I’m a birth-mom to an incredible son who I’ve been Facebook reunited with for ten years, and I am a living, breathing bi-polar who isn’t ashamed.  I’ve always believed that Nothing is Ever In Vain, and that our paths are purposed with lessons we should embrace.  Our stories can weave us together and unite us in love, and when we become authentic and honest we shift our hearts from judgement to freedom.  I write some pretty raw stuff, a lot of people have judged me and questioned me, but for those that get it and inspire me  with their stories .. it’s worth it.  We’re all in this together.  At least, we should be.

Welcome to the Ink Well.

  1. Hey Courtney,

Thank you for liking my post. I had a sports accident on 15th December 2011 and have been trying to recover since. My spinal injury has been the toughest challenge in my life, and I really want to say thank you for supporting me, it honestly means a lot to me.

I love the way you write, keep up the great work 🙂

    Your friend,

    1. Lucas,

My best friend of 22 years is in a chair too – she was paralyzed from the waist down after a car accident when she was only 17. She is and always has been my motivation. One thing she always said to me was, “My experiences can’t change me. I can change me.” Keep strong. Fight hard. You can win! I’ll be posting her story and mine very soon … just for you!
      Thanks again!

    1. Thank you so much! That is fabulous! I’ve been following your blog for a while now and LOVE it! I appreciate your support, let me know what else I can or need to to! Rock on!!!! Courtney
